December

These are out of order. For Reese's birthday we went bowling in Preston. Reese had her best friends and cousins there.
 My cute mom and sis-in-law.

Somehow this Christmas picture got mixed up in here. Reese got a very nice dollhouse this year from Santa. Santa spent many, many, many hours painting, sewing curtains, making furniture, and gluing on over a 1000 shingles just to make this little girl very happy on Christmas morning. She wanted a dollhouse big enough for her big lalaloopsy dolls. She love, love, loves it and plays with it every single day.

Our beautiful tree before it died. Seriously by Christmas it was so dry and droopy.
Boston and his beloved monster trucks. He loves Monster Jam and can tell you the name of almost every truck out there.

Thanksgiving

Not too many pictures from November. Our city has fireworks the day after Thanksgiving and our house is very close to the fairgrounds where they shoot them off. It's very convenient being able to watch them right out our kitchen window.

Halloween Festivities

So these aren't in order but oh well. We carved pumpkins one night. The kids supplied the ideas of what they wanted and that was about it. They wouldn't even help clean them out... they didn't want to touch the goop. Reese naturally wanted a lalaloopsy and Boston wanted a pirate.
Reese chose to be Belle this year for Halloween. We were kind of surprised by her choice, she never watches Beauty and the Beast or anything and we kept hearing months before she was going to be Rapunzel. She loved her costume but since it was rather chilly I made her a cape to go with it. She loves her cape! She seriously wore it everyday all day for weeks.
Above: at our ward party. The primary kids got up on the stage and did a parade to show and tell about their costumes.

Just like every year we went to Downey to the trunk or treat. Isn't Boston just the cutest pirate! His costume was a last minute decision. He wanted to be Iron man or Spider man when we asked him weeks before. He's supposed to be Jake and the Neverland pirates but we just went with a generic pirate costume.

Yellowstone

So while it was just the girls we drove up part of the day, from Colter Bay to Yellowstone. We only drove around to a few things. Reese loves Yellowstone. She couldn't wait to see the stinky pots again. Above: by a waterfall.
We also went through Yellowstone a 2nd time on our way home with just our family. (So some of these pictures are from the girls only trip and some are from our trip home) Above: Reese with her map.
Boston has a recent obsession with monster trucks.

Reese testing out her photography skills with this cute one of Boston.

 Old Faithful.

Reese was pretty excited to find this footprint.

 Her souvenirs.

The kids loved this spot called "Dragons Breath." It was this little cave that sounded like a dragon was inside breathing heavily with his breath coming out.

We had a fun time making the loop around Yellowstone.

Colter Bay

We had our annual girls trip to Yellowstone a couple of weeks ago- Reese, myself, my mother, and my grandmother. We changed it up a bit this year and actually stayed in Colter Bay the entire time. We stayed in small cabin. Reese and I were fortunate enough to share a single bed. We spent a lot of our time down on the lake playing and relaxing. So I mentioned it was a girls trip. Well we were having such a good time I kept thinking how fun it would be to have Todd and Boston there too. So I called him up and had them pack up our tent and other necessities and come stay the last night there with us.
We went for a walk around the bay. Boston had a lot of fun throwing rocks, a favorite pastime of his.
We saw some neat animals on our walk.

 Our tent back at camp.
Even Jewel (her doll) went for a dip.
We had deer walking through our campsite everyday. When Boston saw a deer he crept up as close as he could and yelled, "Boo!"
Reese was excited to use the raft.

 Throwing rocks yet again.
Taking a break on our walk.
Boston liked seeing all the boats in the bay.
 Spectacular view of the Tetons.
When we passed through Jackson on our way to Colter Bay we saw these guys cooling off.

Denver Day 4

On our last day in Denver we went to the zoo. The kids were really excited to go. Boston hasn't ever been to a big zoo. He was able to see giraffes, elephants, rhinos, hippos, sea lions, and lots of other animals all for the first time. Technically he has been to this zoo before - but while in utero :) Above: the giraffes - mommy's favorite.
 Check out those dumbo ears!
 Feeding the lorikeets.
Reese brought a toy camera along with her and took pictures the whole time it was so funny. She was so serious about it too. What a funny girl. Notice her snapping a pic of the lorikeet.
Strolling off to see the flamingos.
 "Click, take a pic!"

It was so very hot at the zoo. We didn't see quite all the exhibits, we didn't want to keel over. We spent a couple hours there and called it good. We rode the train and the carousel.

Later that day the girls all went to see the movie Brave. They even dressed up for the affair. Followed by a trip to the mall to do some shopping at the Disney Store. The boys were able to go to the Rockies game. We even picked up a Troy Tulowitzki T-shirt for Boston to wear to the game. We all had a lot of fun!
We were sad when it was time to go very early the next morning. The kids were so sad to leave Ava especially. We're so grateful Torben and Angela are so welcoming! I'm sure it's chaotic for us to all to be there but we really appreciate the time and effort they make to ensure we all have a good visit.
