Poky Football

Friday we took the kids to Pocatello High's Homecoming Football game. Reese has been to a couple games before but this was Boston's first game. It was fun to get out and do something a little different. Reese was definitely read to go by the 3rd quarter but after a few trips to the drinking fountain and one bag of popcorn we made it to the end of the 4th. However, the game did go into overtime but by then the kids had had it so we left. We did listen to remainder of the game on the ride home (and Poky won)! I don't think we'll be going to too many more games - it was $8 a person! The kids were free of course, but seriously $8 to go watch a dippy high school football game! It was in Holt Arena so it was nice not having to deal with the cold and we did have actual seats to sit in, but still...
Reese watching the cheerleaders from the other team. She also enjoyed halftime when the cheerleaders and dance team performed. They also presented their Homecoming Royalty during halftime and Reese liked seeing all the Princess dresses.
Reese took her own pom-poms to the game so she could cheer.

Haven't been doing too much lately. Todd is almost through his first month of student teaching. Only 2 more to go! Only like 9 weeks left! Saturday we were down in Preston. My Grandma Poole died and we were there for her funeral. It was definitely a celebration of her life. She was 94 and she passed very peacefully so it wasn't sad. She was a cute little lady and lived next door to me growing up. We'll miss her.
Sunday Todd and I had to speak in church. I am NOT, repeat NOT a public speaker. It scares me to death. No matter how many times I read over my talk I'm still a mess when I get up there. I'm sure it's 10x worse in my mind than it actually is, but wow. Obviously I survived and lived to tell the tale. I nervously paced all morning. I'm sure the audience could hear my heart pounding in the microphone. I spoke a 100 mph, and even though I knew this I couldn't slow down -- I felt like when I paused I was pausing too long. I know it sounds crazy, but man am I glad that's over with. Todd on the other hand is a wonderful speaker. He's charming, funny and of course ties in his points very well. He can ad lib too, which I cannot. I have to write my talk down word for word! Anyway so that was our weekend. Not too much on the agenda for this week.

Weekend at Grandmas

So this weekend we were down at my mom's house for the combined September birthday dinner. My two nephews and my grandmas birthday is in September. It's much easier combining it all rather than traveling down for each birthday. Reese's best buddy (her cousin Dylan) was there at Grandmas house the night before and they got to play together all day.

Their favorite thing to do: playing with the trains. I usually ends up in a fight over who gets to have Thomas, Toby and Percy. For the most part they played pretty well together.
Boston played too. He stole trains and laid on the track.
Reading a book together... it is possible for these two to get along for a few minutes.
My first attempts at using fondant. Thomas the Train cupcake. I used a recipe on makeit-loveit.com I think they turned out pretty good. Except I didn't have very good cutting tools (household items like cups and lids) and the edges aren't very clean but overall not too bad for my first attempt. The kids loved them!

All the kids jumping on Todd.

Opening presents.
Yes that would be my child in the box picking her nose.

Here and there...

Last weekend we went down to Brigham City for Peach Days. We went to the parade (I swear the longest parade in the world - ok not really but it was really long), and then we went back to Grandma Roxcy's for lunch and Peach Pie. Above: I'm pretty sure Reese waved at every single float that went by.
Reese and some of her loot.
Playing Peek-a-boo with Bos.

One day Reese kept dancing and twirling around and every time she would land on the ground and do this little pose.
Boston wanted some toys apparently.
The other night Todd had his first "Back to School Night." Reese really wanted to see Daddy's school and his classroom. Luckily there weren't too many parents that showed up so we were able to spend some time with Daddy.

Blackfoot Fair

For some reason I felt like putting a little retro look on all these pictures. Above: the notorious Tigers Ear scone. They are huge and a favorite at the fair. We always get it very last and much on it all the way home - Yum!
We met up with some friends at the fair.
Reese found her souvenir! Unfortunately we didn't have $400.
The kids favorite part of the fair - the petting zoo.
Nurse Reese. The hospitals booth had these cute little hats for the kids and a balloon (which floated away of course).
A little entertainment along the way... long distance dog jumping.
Reese and Addi feeding the goats.

Boston munching on some of sisters cotton candy.
We had a fun time at the fair - it's the same every year but we still enjoy going. It's huge and there are a lot of animals to see and lots of fair food to eat!

Food & Football

It's great being back in Pocy with all of our friends. it's not unusual for us to all get together and watch some Foosball. I believe on this particular day we were watching BYU (well the boys watched the game and the girls tended to the children). We had mass amounts of goods to eat too! Above: All the kids jumping on the bed.

You love this one Jo!
A few of the gang.

A few pics from August...

So I found a few pictures that some how never made it on the blog. A few of these are from when we were still in Rexburg. Like above: At the Madison County Fair. Which may possibly be the lamest fair I have ever been to (and I've been to a few dippy fairs in my time). We thought we could go and at least burn an hour there... no maybe 35 minutes - and that's pushing it. Reese was happy though - all she wanted was some cotton candy.

Looking at some weird pigeons.
Also from when we were still in Rexburg. Boston loves watermelon!
At our new place in Pocy. Boston is quite the little scooter/climber. Daddy's legs are no match for a boy on a mission!

Oh the places you'll go

Here's our little mover and his modified army crawl. It's funny to watch him eye something from across the room and squirm his way over to get it. He's getting faster and faster everyday. He's a busy boy.
