Friday we took the kids to Pocatello High's Homecoming Football game. Reese has been to a couple games before but this was Boston's first game. It was fun to get out and do something a little different. Reese was definitely read to go by the 3rd quarter but after a few trips to the drinking fountain and one bag of popcorn we made it to the end of the 4th. However, the game did go into overtime but by then the kids had had it so we left. We did listen to remainder of the game on the ride home (and Poky won)! I don't think we'll be going to too many more games - it was $8 a person! The kids were free of course, but seriously $8 to go watch a dippy high school football game! It was in Holt Arena so it was nice not having to deal with the cold and we did have actual seats to sit in, but still...
Reese watching the cheerleaders from the other team. She also enjoyed halftime when the cheerleaders and dance team performed. They also presented their Homecoming Royalty during halftime and Reese liked seeing all the Princess dresses.
Reese took her own pom-poms to the game so she could cheer.
Haven't been doing too much lately. Todd is almost through his first month of student teaching. Only 2 more to go! Only like 9 weeks left! Saturday we were down in Preston. My Grandma Poole died and we were there for her funeral. It was definitely a celebration of her life. She was 94 and she passed very peacefully so it wasn't sad. She was a cute little lady and lived next door to me growing up. We'll miss her.
Sunday Todd and I had to speak in church. I am NOT, repeat NOT a public speaker. It scares me to death. No matter how many times I read over my talk I'm still a mess when I get up there. I'm sure it's 10x worse in my mind than it actually is, but wow. Obviously I survived and lived to tell the tale. I nervously paced all morning. I'm sure the audience could hear my heart pounding in the microphone. I spoke a 100 mph, and even though I knew this I couldn't slow down -- I felt like when I paused I was pausing too long. I know it sounds crazy, but man am I glad that's over with. Todd on the other hand is a wonderful speaker. He's charming, funny and of course ties in his points very well. He can ad lib too, which I cannot. I have to write my talk down word for word! Anyway so that was our weekend. Not too much on the agenda for this week.
