Tired Stinky Baby

Hey all just thought you might like a more 3-D view of the baby and not just photos. I took this video last Thursday (my long day) Todd has school from 8-12 and then works from 1-11 so Reese and I spend a lot of time together. I'm sure she is sick of me by now. I know this video probably isn't exciting to most but for those of you who are unable to see her in person it's a little more personal. She does make her first little squeal like sound that isn't a grunt, cry, or yell (the only sounds she has made prior to this day)... most of the first part is her trying to decide if she's tired or not but then once she has a little gas issue.. she perks up -- enjoy

The day after Todd's Birthday...

Ok I don't really know how this worked out... but I think this picture is hilarious!! Reese gives it one thumb up!! I think the expression on her face adds to the photo as well... what a goof ball...

She sleeps pretty much anyway and anywhere... here she is sprawled out on mom's lap while the jazz game was on... not a good sign for dad if sports are putting her to sleep (she's must get that from her mother). Dad and Uncle Thomas are failing in their mission to brainwash her to be an avid spots fanatic.
Yesterday was Todd's birthday, but since their band had a show and Todd also had to work we couldn't really celebrate yesterday so today we had everyone come over for cake and ice cream. I know I should be a professional cake decorator... I worked with what I had, and since it was gobbled up in a matter of minutes I didn't think it really mattered too much what it looked like prior (it still tasted yummy!!!)

Just a few minutes old...

So here are a couple pics I forgot to post. These were taken moments after she arrived. Don't mind me not looking my best I just spent the last 20 minutes or so pushing out a 10lb watermelon. I was seriously pushing so hard I thought my head was going to explode. (Surprisingly I really didn't feel anything... thank you modern medicine --- highly recommended for anyone going into labor). **Side note: I was also being stitched up at this same moment this picture was taken...I seriously sat there spread eagle for like an hour while the resident (who I could tell hadn't delivered many babies) sewed me up... I made sure to tell Todd to not allow that part of the action to be photographed... not a pleasant scene.

Bath Time!!!

Reese had her first bath a week or so ago.. once her stub fell off. Our house was pretty chilly so we set up the bath in our bedroom by the heater so she wouldn't freeze. It's seemed to go over pretty well at least while she was in the tub... once she got out I don't think she cared to be in the nude. We censored the picture so Reese wouldn't be too embarrassed her parts were out there for the world to see.

In the last 3 weeks...

So Friday we celebrated Reese's 3 week birthday... ok we didn't really celebrate... but it's crazy to think she's been here for that long... and not to sound like a nerdy parent so soon... but she is getting so big all ready!!! She is so much more alert, she is definitely more aware of us (mom and dad) her eyes will follow us, and she recognizes our voices. We have also slept a lot less these last few weeks. Most nights she sleeps pretty well... we maybe have to get up and do 1-2 early morning feedings... but lately she has her night and day mixed up. It's not that she spends the whole night crying she's just wide awake... and she will only fuss if you try to lay her in her bassinet. I'm kind of worried one of these nights... when I'm holding her she'll just flop out of my arms - since I usually fall asleep while I'm holding her. The picture above is one Todd snapped while mom and Reese were catching up on some much needed sleep. It's definitely a struggle for me to get used to...

ok so they are finally here... sorry everyone it took me so long to get these pics on here. the internet at our house wasn't working and having a newborn it isn't so easy to get outside the house---- so reese roxee welch was born december 28, 2007. we went in at about 6:30 am to the hospital to get me started... things moved a lot faster than they had anticipated and she was born 5:42 pm. Reese was 9lbs 10oz... (yes she is a very healthy robust girl) 21 inches. We are so happy to finally have her home. So I don't know how often I'll be able to put pictures on here... Reese and I plan to come and have lunches with Dad in between his classes so hopefully then I'll be able to update the blog then...so here are some pics of our girl over the last 2 1/2 weeks... the pic of her naked was taken a couple hours after she was born after her first bath...isn't she a doll
