Primary Activity

Saturday Reese had a primary activity. It was cowgirl themed. We had it at the livestock and outdoor learning center.
The first activity was coloring their very own cowboy vest (made from a paper sack). Reese thought this was pretty cool to wear because it reminds her of Woody from Toy Story (her current obsession).
All the kids got their faces painted. Reese chose a butterfly on one cheek and a flower on the other.

We even got to ride a horse. Reese was so excited she could hardly stand it. She was bouncing around while she waited her turn in line.
It was a pretty exciting ride (well for Reese, me not so much) the girl lead us around the indoor arena. Don't mind me looking pretty gross. It was so hot in that arena and and my hair isn't done - obviously.
We grabbed Boston just for a picture - he didn't get to ride the horse.
The horse's name was Chuckwagon.
Doing a cake walk. Well it wasn't an actual cake walk since they didn't get a cake. They got a little bag of goodies.

Shooting cows with their water guns.

Eating their snacks.
Playing "Pass the Snake." Looks like it's not being passed so well.
Reese riding her stick horse. They had these made for all the kids to take home. It's made out of a tube sock. Reese had a lot of fun.

Just a few random pics...

So in case you hadn't noticed I've been a little bit more on the ball lately when it comes to posting pictures. Our internet has been incredibly stupid the past few weeks (since our complex switched providers and things didn't transition too smoothly) - so I wasn't really able to do much during that time. Also, we finally took our desktop in to get fixed. So things are running pretty smooth for the moment.
Just a few pics of Reese. She's had a lot of important phone calls this week with Ariel and other various princesses. Also, I actually did her hair. Usually when we're just slummin' it at home her hair is all over the place, but I've been so tired of it hanging in her face. Plus - I can leave it in for a few days and only have to curl her bangs if we go out.
Watching a little TV (I'm sure it's Caillou - her absolute favorite TV show). Also note the lack of pants, very comfortable during the summer, but we've also been working on using the big potty. Can I just say I hate potty training. I'm being very inconsistent right now and I need to get on the ball.
Reese in her "castle" we made of pillows.

A trip to the zoo (again). Daddy actually got to go this time.

I'm pretty sure a golden eagle could pick her up and carry her away.
Brushing the goats.

Going camping and swimming next week... should be fun. Todd has to stay home and go to school and work... not fun. Todd only has 2 more weeks of school and then he's done! WAHOO!! Of course he still has his student teaching, but we'll get to see him sooo much more!

Boston 5 Months!

I'm trying to remember to take pictures every month of Boston. Snapped these this afternoon.
Always has his fingers in his mouth.
You just can't help but love him!
His smile cracks me up in this one.

4th of July Weekend

Well we didn't do anything too exciting for the 4th. Just stuck around Rexburg on Saturday. We went up to the parade Saturday morning. Didn't realize there was going to be as many people as there was and we had to park a few blocks away from the park and make a short trek to find a spot. We didn't get there early enough to be right on the street, but we found a place that had about an 8" space in between some peoples lawn chairs so Reese could squeeze through and get some of the candy being thrown. It was all dandy until this other family showed up and kept invading our personal space with their 50 kids who kept going back and forth and past us - it was driving me nuts. The parade was like 2 hours long (wasn't expecting that). Along time to just be standing there in the sun. They had some booths and things set up there in the park, but we decided to pass and went home to get some lunch. I was all by myself with the kids (Boston strapped to me and Reese in the stroller/walking), Todd was to the parade long enough to help us find a spot and then he had to go to work. Reese liked the parade though - especially all the different dance and cheer groups. We'll definitely have to sign her up for something next year when she's 3. {Above: Reese and Boston modeling their new blankets the Grandma's sewed for them-they were in the quilting mood so I bought some fabric and gave them a project}.
Later that night after Todd got off work we went and watched the fireworks. We parked our blankets at the Nature Park by the fairgrounds and waited patiently for the show to start. It was kind of a sad display of fireworks (at least in comparison to the Idaho Falls fireworks that we usually go and see). We didn't feel like fighting the crowds in IF this year.
{Laying back watching the show}

On the 4th we went down to Preston. Sunday morning my brother's baby was being blessed. So most of the day we were taking part of blessing festivities. Later when it started getting dark we went on on the front steps of my mom's house and lit off the few fireworks I had purchased. $30 worth of fireworks doesn't get you too much. We had a couple packs of sparklers, some flowers, these 2 turtles that Reese insisted on, and a pack of about 10 fountains. It wasn't too bad of a little show. Reese liked it and I suppose that is all that mattered.

Boston didn't like the fireworks too much.

Reese wouldn't dare hold a sparkler either.

Sorry some of these pics are pretty pixelated. I didn't want my flash on so my ISO was set pretty high.
Watching the fireworks with Grandpa.
Reese's turtles.

It was a fun weekend. Reese cried the next morning when we had to pack up and go home. She loved playing at Grandma's.

Splash Park

This was a couple weeks ago but didn't get the pictures posted since our apartment complex switched internet providers and we didn't have a connection for a while.
My friends little boy. Look at the cute little footprints.
