Last week the kids and I spent a few days camping with my mother and grandma. We stayed 2 nights and that was about all I could handle. Reese and I shared a sleeping bag in the tent while Boston slept in the trailer with the Grandmas. The nights were pretty rough. Reese moves so much. She was either 1/2 way out of the sleeping bag, sleeping sideways, or draping her body all over me. So I didn't sleep to well, since I spent the nights trying to keep her covered up, straightening her out and pushing her back on to her side of the sleeping bag. Also, one of the nights we managed to switch pillows at some time during the night.
Yummy french toast breakfast.
My mother cooking up some sweet goodness.
We usually look real classy when we camp.
Yes I know there is a giant glob of spit on his face. Have I mentioned that Boston is a spewer? I thought he would have out grown it by now, but no such luck. He spews all day long. Each day usually involves a few clothing changes and numerous burp rags. It's quite annoying. Hopefully when he's on solids the problem will resolve itself.
Bos pretty much chilled in the pack n' play most of the day. We jimmy rigged his toy so he could play with it in the pack n' play.
Grandma doing her puzzle books and Reese coloring.
I'll have you know that my Grandma has 30 and 40 year old coloring books in her trailer. There are a few pictures in there that I colored over 15 years ago.
Reese trying out her fishing rod. She didn't quite get the whole reeling it in concept, and she tangled her line quite a few times from doing who knows what. So she gave up shortly after.
Just walking through the stream was much more fun.
Eating some gummy worms. I don't have much to say about her outfit. I have no idea why she always wears her hat backwards and I have no idea why she's wearing the duct tape. I guess you get a little more creative when you are up to the canyon without any toys.
I think my grandma said this was her first smore. People she is nearly 80 - how has she never had a smore? Strange. I suppose there is a first time for everything.

Swimming at Downata
Last Monday we went swimming at Downata Hot Springs for a cousins birthday party. Reese was so excited! I swear she was a fish in another life. We were there for hours and she could have stayed there for forever. I was happy that she's big enough to use water wings. It's so nice to not have to lug her around the pool. Don't fret I was right by her the whole time so she wouldn't drown.
By the end of the day she could get around pretty good with just the water wings. She still hasn't quite grasped the concept of swimming, but she's still mobile.
Hitching a ride with Grandma. My mom said she'd kill me if I posted any pics of her... so this will be our little secret.
Reese liked to spend most of her time in the little kiddie pool.
Taking a break and eating some Toy Story cookies.
I forgot to snap some pics of Boston in his swim trunks. They are so cute. We'll be going swimming again later this month so I'll have to remember then.
Boston isn't quite the marine animal his sister is, but he still liked the water. He actually liked being held better than sitting in his tube (I think because he doesn't sit up very well on his own).
I didn't take very many exciting pictures. I didn't really have my camera with me all the time.

Future Best Friends
Another trip to the spash park...
I know, I know nothing new here... what can I say we take advantage of the free things here. Reese would probably go to the splash park everyday if her mother would allow her. It's just so hot and crowded most days that I just don't want to deal with it. I'm a mean mom I know.
Reese loved just standing or sitting on top of the shooting water. She was kind of a sprayer hog.
My cute boys. Todd had the day off and took a break from doing homework to come with us.
UP! UP! UP! It looks kind of like the water is shooting her up. I was experimenting with the continuous shooting mode on my camera.

Primary Activity
Saturday Reese had a primary activity. It was cowgirl themed. We had it at the livestock and outdoor learning center.
The first activity was coloring their very own cowboy vest (made from a paper sack). Reese thought this was pretty cool to wear because it reminds her of Woody from Toy Story (her current obsession).
All the kids got their faces painted. Reese chose a butterfly on one cheek and a flower on the other.
We even got to ride a horse. Reese was so excited she could hardly stand it. She was bouncing around while she waited her turn in line.
It was a pretty exciting ride (well for Reese, me not so much) the girl lead us around the indoor arena. Don't mind me looking pretty gross. It was so hot in that arena and and my hair isn't done - obviously.
We grabbed Boston just for a picture - he didn't get to ride the horse.
The horse's name was Chuckwagon.
Doing a cake walk. Well it wasn't an actual cake walk since they didn't get a cake. They got a little bag of goodies.
Shooting cows with their water guns.
Eating their snacks.
Playing "Pass the Snake." Looks like it's not being passed so well.
Reese riding her stick horse. They had these made for all the kids to take home. It's made out of a tube sock. Reese had a lot of fun.
