So over the weekend we partied it up at Shawn's Birthday party (Todd's best friend). The party started Saturday (which technically was supposed to be for family - which we include ourselves as family)... we had a nice little BBQ in Shawn and Amanda's backyard. Reese got to see a lot of new and old faces and everyone was eager to hold her... but not so eager to give her up. The picture above was Reese just after she woke up (sleeping in Tracy's arms - Shawn's Aunt)... she is so angelic when she had a nice nap and has a full tummy.
This photo was actually taken Sunday (Shawn's party part II). This was the 'friends' party. We just enjoyed each others company outside, played a little catch, croquet, and had some cake and ice cream. Don't want our baby to burn. I know how miserable it is to have a sun burn (however my most recent burn was a bulb burn - from the tanning bed).
So happy to see her daddy. Seriously no one can make her smile like Todd.
Todd and Shawn setting up to play a little croquet...
Some traits we inherit from our parents (or I should say parent) are less desirable... Reese shows us her pencil holder.
This picture was obviously supposed to be up top by the other one... she just looks so darn cute. -- So we didn't do much for Memorial Day. Todd rode down with his folks to see his grandma in Brigham City and I worked. All I've been doing for the remainder of the holiday is cleaning up a bit around the house.

As Promised...
Finally here are our pictures!! I got them back earlier this week but didn't have time to scan them... plus we were having some computer issues (overheating or something)... So since they are scanned they aren't as good as the real thing... and there maybe a few dust particles here and there... just try to ignore that.
There are a couple that I didn't put on here.. but they weren't very cute... I'm not sure why I picked them at all to get printed.. they must have looked better when I picked them out that day...but overall we ended up with some really cute ones. In the photo above she would never keep her hands right under her she kept sticking them out... which made it difficult to crop the photo to a usable size.
Don't mind the bad cropping job on my part... I was trying to get this done in a hurry.
She just loves her tootsies!!! The photographer... was wondering if we would be able to get her to grab her toes.. and I knew it would be no problem as soon as you lay her down they are in her hands or her mouth.
Our chubby little girl... the typical 4 month old physique. That's what 6 oz of formula will do you every few hours.
Candi I told you we had a matching outfit.. Hopefully it will be big enough by the time we head out to Georgia... She's just growing, growing, growing!!!

One of those important Milestones...
Just in case you all were wondering today was my Sunday to teach and I survived. I get myself so worked up before hand and by the time I'm about half way through my lesson I've calmed down and I don't feel like I'm going to pass out anymore. I am learning and growing with this calling as much as I hate to admit it... I would still rather be the bulletin folder or something not requiring me to get up in front of people.
This little girl is supposed to be taking a nap...I don't usually have her nap in her dress but I didn't want to change her out it because after church we had to go to a nursing home to do sacrament meeting. Speaking of which I don't if I have ever mentioned my fear of nursing/assisted living homes. I am so uncomfortable when ever I've gone to one (which is ridiculous I know). Josie.. kudos to you for working at them for all these years... I don't know how you do it, and Amanda kudos to you as well (I know I would hear about it later if I didn't mention you as well).
Yes Reese reached an important milestone in her life yesterday... one that every little girl looks forward to experiencing at a young age. That's right everyone she watched The Little Mermaid for the first time. Ok maybe not so much watched it... she was in the room while it was playing. She did yell and gurgle during the songs which I interpret as singing (her mother also insisted on singing along). It might have been me that was a little more excited to watch it... even so much that when I went to Wal-Mart I checked out what other Disney classics were available for purchase. Disney does the stupid vault thing where they only release them every once in a while. I have slowly started building my collection. I know how much I enjoyed them growing up and there are those few titles that will never go out of style and every little girl needs to own. We already have The Little Mermaid, Fox and the Hound, Lady and the Tramp and Jungle Book. I've missed the times that Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Lion King have been released. I also have a select few on VHS (that I may have stole from my mother... eventually I would like to get them in DVD -(and my mother would probably like her copies back). Sorry this is boring I was just super excited!

My Thursday....
Really not much going on this week... I really don't even have a reason to post, but I'll do it anyways. We had everyone over to watch the jazz game last night... Reese didn't wear her jersey and Korver socks (Todd is slightly superstitious and says she can only wear them on home games -- )... well for those of you who follow the NBA know that it didn't work - the jazz lost. My Thursday night has been pretty good... after work Reese and I went and met Todd at his work party and loaded up on some free food and came home and indulged on some quality Thursday night TV. Lately I've been watching a lot of Wheel of Fortune (I suck really bad at it too), then watched The Office (tonights episode was pretty funny... especially when they convinced Holly the new HR person that Kevin was 'special' -- maybe you just had to be there). Following The Office was of course Lost. It's during Lost that I don't want any disruptions. Don't plan on calling between 9 and 10 on Thursday I probably won't answer. For those of you who watch the show know what I'm talking about, and for those of you who don't watch the first few episodes... and you'll understand (because you'll get sucked in and start obsessing over it). Ok, maybe not obsess over it -- I'm not obsessed, but Todd sure is. He is constantly listening to the Podcasts and reading all the little secret things on the internet... and whatever you do don't get him started on any theories about what might happen. So yeah... that's my Thursday after work. Another day of work awaits me tomorrow... which is probably why I'm delaying my bedtime.

El Dia de Madre...
So the Mothers Day sha-bang started actually Saturday. It's tradition for my in-laws to go to the Hale theater in West Valley to see a show for Mothers Day. This year we went and saw Annie Get Your Gun. I really quite enjoy musicals (and also a Saturday off)!!! Following the show we had a nice lunch at Chili's. It was a very nice get together and a perfect way to celebrate motherhood (leaving the children at home).
Sunday I came down to Preston and went to Sacrament Meeting with my mom. Following the meeting the ward gave all the mothers two big bluebird (a restaurant in Logan) chocolates...Yum!!! We skipped out on the remaining meetings to have a nice little MD lunch. All my brothers came up and we enjoyed heaping piles of chicken, dutch oven potatoes, fresh fruit, and other tasty things. (photo: My brother Justin and his boy Dylan, My grandma and Reese, and my sis-in-law Suzy and her daughter Brooklyn).
Yes we are starting that wonderful teething phase. She is practically running faucet. This was also an outfit we used for her pictures we just got (we had to do a clothing change after a few frames if you can imagine why).
Brookie and Reese -- just chillin'. (These two are 10 months apart). -- For those of you inquiring about the use of the Superman table cloths for Mothers day... my mom has a huge bin downstairs of random holiday paper goods (napkins, plates, and tablecloths)... and somehow we end up using whatever is on top. We also had Easter napkins for Mothers Day. We figured Superman could be changed to Super"mom." You just have to know how holidays go at my house.. For easter we probably had plates with turkeys on them and strawberry shortcake napkins. Just one of our little "things."
The reason I get to celebrate Mothers Day this year. My beautiful baby Reese. Actually we kind of celebrated last year... Todd got me a card and the pregnant Willow Tree figurine. This year Todd gave me 'Enchanted' the movie, some beautiful roses (never get tired of those), and some candy. I am so grateful to be a mom!!! I am also grateful for my beautiful and perfect mom. Perfect for me anyways. I'm a lucky girl!!! -- Some day hopefully Reese will think the same thing -- at least that's my goal!!

Coming Soon ...
So today Reese participated in her first "real" photo shoot, and by this I mean the Wal-Mart photo studio. Usually it's just me flashing the camera in her face, but today I decided it was time for some real pictures. (I also hadn't picked up anything for Mother's Day - so that also contributed to the idea). She was a perfect angel during the whole shoot... she smiled a lot... it was still difficult to capture those perfect moments at times, but she's 4 months old what can anyone really expect out of her. She was intrigued by the white fake fur looking blanket she sat on. She kept touching it and tasting it. When it was all over there were a lot of pictures to choose from. The only thing I wasn't too happy about was the price for the packages. There were only two options expensive and more expensive. (We also got a discount since Todd worked there). I justified spending what I did since it was going to be 2 Mothers Day presents, some nice photos for us to have, and all the left overs will be dispersed to other family members. It just blows me away how much they charge for those pictures. I hadn't even looked at the packages before we started taking pictures... I figured "it's Wal-Mart they should have decent prices." Oh well I suppose! The 2nd crappy part is that they won't be done til' like the 28th - so much for them being mothers day presents. We'll just have to frame and IOU and give that instead. We do get a ton of prints - next time - I'll make it a little more worth the money and do pictures of the whole family. So in a couple weeks I'll have the pics posted.

ATTENTION!!!
To all those super moms out there.... How do you do it all? I'm exhausted!! I'm sick of working, not seeing my family and my house is a mess! For those of you who have to work out there.. how do you get it all done without exploding?

Here we come Lakers....
We picked up this souvenir when me and Todd went to Salt Lake for the last Jazz home game.
Such a daddy's girl. She is so fascinated with his beard -- she just loves to play with it.
Rockin' the Kyle Korver socks. I know she's a Boozer fan... but she thinks Korver is pretty cute too!!!
So last night we had everyone over to watch the jazz game. Finally the stupid jazz got their act together. Reese was all dolled up in her Boozer jersey ready to watch the game - which she was so eagerly tuned into until she discovered the twizzler bag... you would think she had struck gold. I think it was mostly the sound it made when she would smash it up and try to shove it in her mouth. She would whine too if it fell on the floor out of her reach. (This is what entertained the girls while the boys were watching the game).

4 month check up...
Look what I can Do!!! You would think with that gut she wouldn't be hungry. She does like her finger food....ha ha... ok that wasn't really funny. Todd made me come in the living room the other day to see this. I didn't capture it quite in time... but she practically had both fists inside her mouth. She's a talented girl.
This was taken on Sunday -- just chilling at home. Sitting on dad. She hates to lay down and if she is laying down she'll do these little crunch sit up like things to try and pull herself up to a sitting position. Naturally she can't sit up yet....so she needs a little assistance from mom or dad.
You can see the remnants of her shots, a little circular bandage. She had to have 3 shots today, and one oral vaccination. She seems pretty content for having gone through such a rough visit.
So today we went in for our four month check up. I was nervous because it was shots day again. I was also really curious to know how much she's grown. Currently she is weighing in at 17 pounds 4 ounces, and 27 inches long. Yes she is quite a big girl... again in the 95th percentile. She's not really chubby though, she's quite proportional. Naturally she cried when she got her shots... but by the time we got her dressed she was done. After that I rewarded her for being such a big girl with a little shopping trip. We found a couple cute things on clearance into Fred Meyer (I'm pretty sure she really didn't care that we went shopping) -- found a few summer things for her to wear when we go to Georgia this summer. Who knows, at the rate she is growing the things I bought her might fit next month. I'm really hoping she will eventually have a little sister so we can get a little more use out of some of these clothes.
She's been really sleepy the rest of the night. I keep checking on her (call me paranoid) to make sure she's ok... I'm sure it's just her traumatic day and the Tylenol that's kept her snoozing. I did make the mistake to get her up after an hour and half nap (just because I want her to sleep at night) - she screamed like I have never heard her scream before. She never cries. Usually she might do a pitiful fake cry to get someone to pick her up or feed her, but this was bloody murder scream for like 10-15 minutes straight. Finally, I just laid her back in her crib and eventually she fell back asleep. Uncle Thomas was over while all this drama was going on... He's convinced she hates him (only because this happened one other time he was over).
There isn't really anything significant footage on this video. Just a 3D look at our big girl. Sorry about any baby talk. I cringe at hearing myself on video talking like such a dork (so you're not alone).
